Moving so far south from the cooler weather of Canada was a huge adjustment for our entire family, but I think our children felt the change most acutely. They had been very happy in their Ontario school experience, and really, it was all that they had ever known before our move. They were just not prepared for the cultural differences and the huge classroom sizes. There were some education gaps as well. Finally I decided to look into other possible school settings. I even briefly considered home school. fortunately, a new neighbor told me about the Arizona Charter School that her children had attended. My children are much happier now that the switch has been made.
